Comfort Agreement
Capacity
To help prevent burnout by prioritizing my mental and physical health, I go into hermit mode the 1st-7th of every month.
I also take off every February because existing through Black history month takes up ALL my spoons
During my week of rest I WILL:
During my week of rest I will NOT:
- Be available via text
- Refer you to another support if needed
- Be available for scheduled or emergency text check-ins/chats
- Hold any regular meetings
- Communicate with my voice w/o prior consent (eg. zoom, audio messages)
Boundaries
- I will never call the police for any reason. I will call a paramedic with explicit consent upon request
- It’s okay if you are on a substance during a session, please just tell me about it so that I can be aware of your capacity
- It may take me anywhere from 30 seconds to a week to respond to a message outside of our meetings, this is especially true during my rest periods. I am not bothered by receiving multiple texts while I gather the spoons to reply **Currently in burnout** may take extra time to respond atm
- I will not tolerate being yelled at, cursed out, or otherwise be on the receiving end of aggression of violence
- I don’t want anyone who isn’t comfortable in my presence to “put up with it” for any reason, even just being unsure of the difference between experiencing a boundary violation and being triggered. If I ever cause discomfort please communicate it when you can so that we can find resolution for you. If you find yourself unable to communicate it with me, please file a grievance through Peer Support Space to have someone advocate on your behalf.
